The New Herring will soon arrive and the 2013 Oyster Bar Herring Festival will be started. We want you to be part of it. Please join us starting June 19, 2013 for about 3 weeks at The Grand Central Oyster Bar to enjoy the ‘silver from the sea’.
Herring lovers will enjoy the season for less than a month; the tastiest herring are the newly matured fish caught in late spring: the green, ‘new’ herring. The Herring is flown in by air-express daily to the Grand Central Oyster Bar from Scheveningen, The Netherlands, on the North Sea where the herring fleet makes its home. Not only will the Oyster Bar receive the very first herring shipped to the USA, but the cream of the catch, as well.
The Herring Festival will only last for about 3 weeks, starting 6/19/2013.
